April's Updates Start Here

Hello again. This is the first of my April updates, I can only hope there will be many.  Postcards have really been arriving at a record pace lately. Let's hope that it continues. I don't know how many I'll get to today, I'll just take them one at a time.

Let's start with this postcard of a door and window from Germany. I think doors could be an interesting postcard collection. This is a photo by Waltraud Klammet , of a door in Turen, a village of about a thousand souls in western Slovakia. Historical records for the village go back to 1252. I have seen another postcard of a Klammet photo of a door, online and it too was equally as striking.

Fati , a Postcrosser living in Hurth, Germany sent this card. She used 3 copies of the 2005 Aster Flower definitive.

My next card is from Brussels and is entitled "Brussels in the Pot ". See, the city is indeed in a flower pot. This is a creation of Jennifer Renson.

Meelis, a frequent contributor to this blog used a couple of fairly recent stamps . On the left is a letter box stamp from 2011 , it is 1 of a set of 5 issued for Stamp Day. The right stamp was issued in 2012. It is from a set of 10 self adhesives featuring Companion Domestic Animals.

The architecture of a  Moldovan  church is featured on my next card. I can't tell anything about it , because I know nothing about it. There is nothing on the card to indicate the name , location or age. Perhaps one of you readers will recognize it and leave a comment.

Olga just about covered the back in stamps. She left room for my address and little more.
The large souvenir sheet in top left was issued in 1996 and commemorates Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu. The lower left stamp was issued in 2013 and is 1 of 2 commemorating city traffic and the 100th Anniversary of the first electric tram in Chisinau. The wine colored stamp in the top right is a definitive from 2011 It is 1 of 6 in a set of Buildings. The other 2 stamps are definitives from a 2006 set of 6.

I do believe it's a Dutch photographer on this next card. She certainly has a flare for taking pictures.

Elizabeth, you wrote on your card that you hoped to see your card and the stamps used , here on the blog. If you're reading this, here they are. Leave a comment and tell me what you think.
Elizabeth used a couple of stamps along with an extra stamp from the Netherland Antilles. Let's start with the Antilles stamp. It's from a 2008 souvenir sheet of 5 entitled Netherlands Without Borders.
The black and white Netherlands stamp in the middle is also from a souvenir sheet . It was issued in 2005 and the 10 stamps in the sheet  feature 50 Years of World Press Photos. Elizabeth also wrote that the Bird stamp on the right is her favourite. It's a great topical bird stamp , issued in 2012 for Card Week.

Here's a great way to end today, with a relaxing stop at a sidewalk cafe in Paris. Oh to be so lucky. We all have dreams right ?

Nathalie who lives in Paris used a couple of 2013 stamps. On the left is a stamp from a set of 6 Theatre Masks. On the right a stamp issued commemorating the 100th Tour de France.

So ends another update. Thanks to Nathalie, Elizabeth, Olga, Meelis and Fati for today's cards. Take care and be sure to drop by again.
